I believe in

Supporting community-based organizations to achieve their goals through the development and stewardship of superior fundraising strategies and joyful cultures of philanthropy.

My Philosophy

I am particularly interested in how we build, sustain and grow excellent revenue generation engines for non-profit organizations, and at my core am a strategist. By applying a healthy dose of business acumen, people focus and shrewd strategy and planning, we can transform our mission-driven organizations into values-based powerhouses of social and environmental progress.

I view consulting through a lens of long-term sustainability. Working in deep collaboration with clients to create or evolve a team structure, culture of philanthropy, and program strategy, I build fundraising organisms that will fuel the engine each organization needs to accomplish key goals. There is no cookie-cutter approach to this work, as I view each organization as its own universe, which must be approached with the care, cultural awareness and humility, and respect it deserves as a unique and valuable enterprise.

I boil my personal working definition of sustainable fundraising coaching down to the campsite rule, and it is precisely this that drives my work within community-based organizations. My goal is to leave your work, team, and organization in significantly better shape than I found it, with the knowledge, skills, and plan to move towards exceeding desired goals. I strive to leave behind lasting systems, processes, and solutions that will empower your staff to problem solve for themselves in the future. Rather than approaching projects from the outside in, I prefer to work in lock-step with teams and leaders to make deliverables that weather the test of time and change.

I aim to create bespoke solutions to your unique challenges to ensure that each mission has fundraising program and strategy that works and is aligned with organizational values, a fundraising team that feels skilled, supported, and empowered to take risks and get creative, and internal and volunteer leadership with a strong sense of a culture of philanthropy to support the excellent work of the staff and fundraising volunteers.

I acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded ancestral lands of the Duwamish Tribe and Coast Salish Peoples who have stewarded this land for generations, and honor with respect both the land and the People.

I earned my MBA in Non-Profit Management from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, and have worked across the health, human services, affordable housing, youth development and workforce development sectors.
