THE START UP

For those organizations ready to professionalize their fundraising, I join the work as interim leadership (e.g. Interim Director of Development) for a short time (usually 3-4 months) to do a comprehensive development evaluation, problem solve and build structure, program and culture. I work to pave the way for the first development staff to start from a place of strength, with a program plan set and systems built to support the budding fundraising work. Effectively leading fundraising through the critical transition to hire the first professional fundraising leadership, this style of interim leadership can make the difference between a jump-start and a false-start.


THE REVITALIZE

Organizations undergoing transition and change, where perhaps the current fundraising program, leader or systems are not serving the current needs of the organization most often benefit from smart interim leadership. As a change-agent, I step in as interim (e.g. Interim Director of Development) for a period of time (usually 4-6 months) to perform a comprehensive fundraising evaluation, problem solve, manage and coach existing development staff, coach and prepare executive leaders around fundraising leadership and management, and create a fundraising turn-around plan for an incoming permanent leader to take forward.
